1. State; a particular mode of being; applied to external circumstances, to the body, to the mind, and to things. The word signifies a setting or fixing, and has a very general and indefinite application, coinciding nearly with state, from sto, to stand,

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Dr Stanley L Scott

Introduction:

Your attitude about the things of God, will always impact your ability to receive from God’s Word. CHECK IT!!!

A good testing place is to take note of how you deal with “church” or “hearing the Word”. Ask yourself or think about how important is it? How easily do you allow “other things” to make you choose them?

The main point, challenge, encouragement, today is that I invite you to accept (believe) the power that the Father gives us through Jesus.

THEN:

Study all you can about it, to know what it is.

Receive it.

Put it into action in your life!

 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Living Salvation (Notes Only)

Hello,

The eWORD – Living Salvation

12 June 2011 @ STC

Dr Stanley L Scott

Introduction:

Act – Like it is so

Walk – Like it is so

Talk – Like it is so

Live – Like it is so

Believe – Like it is so

Give God, Praise and Thanks!!!

Main Text: Hebrews 2:1-4

1 ¶ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Support Text:

1Ch 16:35 (7-36) And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

2Th 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Consider from the Main Text (Hebrews 2:1-4):

– the more earnest heed

– the word spoken by angels was stedfast

– so great salvation

– God also bearing them witness….Can God witness to your confirmation of what you have heard?

The big A C T I O N key to confirmation is to give THANKS and PRAISE!!! (Psalm 105:1-15)

Meditate and put into ACTION 1Chronicles 16:7-36:

– give thanks unto the LORD

– call upon his name

– make know his deeds

– sing unto him

– sing psalms unto him

– talk ye of all his wondrous works

– glory

– rejoice

– seek

– remember………

God Bless,
